Self-sacrificing

Everyone has moments in their life that substantially impact the course of their future. For some it may be marriage, or divorce, a dream vacation or adopting a child. For others, it may be buying a house, volunteering, building a business or overcoming a fear. Regardless, these moments set in motion a chain of events that forever change our lives.

As I was sitting at my office desk last week, I had one of these moments. I was texting with a friend who had volunteered to coach a community basketball team and in the midst of our conversation he said, “The CEO’s son of [insert large Colorado chain thrift store here] is on my basketball team.”

Remember that post about how elementary age basketball causes me severe anxiety? You can catch up here if you don’t, but keep in mind its all lies! I LOVE watching children play basketball. So if you need me on a sunny Saturday, instead of hiking, drinking on patios and completing yard work, you can find me inside a gym, supporting the future athletes of this country. It’s the least I can do.
